Here to help gardeners and farmers in middle Tennessee produce high quality food using organic and regenerative practices.
Hi, my name is Peyton Cypress. I have a passion for regenerative agriculture and land management. I am from the great state of Illinois but I currently reside in middle Tennessee. My farming journey began at The Organic Farm School on Whidbey Island in Washington state where I acquired a rock solid agricultural foundation. From there I went on to apprentice with cutting edge, closed-loop farms like Ferme Des Quatre-Temps in Quebec, Canada and Stone Barns Center in the Hudson Valley of New York.. I have since managed farms across the US and currently help farmers and companies fulfill their goals of growing healthy, supply chain resistant food!
I am here to help gardeners and small farmers plan out their production to make the most out of the seasons! Whether you are in the planning stages for your growing space or a seasoned grower, I am happy to assist!
Keeping the soil and plants thriving in middle Tennessee can be tough. Between the scorching summers and heavy rains, soil and plants here take a beating. Not to mention, the things that grow best here are the heaviest feeders (aside from beans of course!). I can help keep your soil alive and thriving with simple techniques.
Each plant in the garden has different nutritional requirements. I can create custom fertility plans for home gardeners and small farmers to ensure high quality, healthy plants year-after-year.
I have an educational background specific to agriculture. I have experience teaching classes on topics like soil health and biology, organic production of vegetables, pest management, season extension, composting, and food label transparency.
I am available for private garden education/consultation as well as speaking opportunities.
